Placerias was an ox sized dicynodont that lived during the late Triassic period.
It lived in what is now, North America.
At about the size of an ox with tusks to match, Placerias was a strong animal, and being one of the largest herbivores of there time, they had not much to fear accross the plains except the terrifying Postosuchus (crocodile from the post)
Placerias was a very slow animal and when forced to flee they were desperately slow. They were peaceful herbivores, being preyed on by animals like Postosuchus , and for the old and sick, Coelophysis .
What happened to themEdit
They were one of the largest plant eaters of their time. They were the last of their kind to live, but were eventually put to extinction by pressure of other herbivores like plateosaurus. Placerias was the largest plant eater of its time. They evolved from animals like Lystrosaurus, Diictodon and Dicynodon, and all of the other earlier dicynodonts.
In Other MediaEdit
In Walking WithEdit
Placerias was shown in walking with dinosaurs, New Blood. It was shown as a herd animal, being preyed on animals like postosuchus. It was the top herbivore of its time. They traveled in monster herds, like Lystrosaurus. Although they didn't do as well as their cousins.
